Gutter cleaning on a single storey home typically costs $180 to $380 inc GST. A double storey home runs $350 to $700 because of the height access. Price is driven by roof size, storey count, pitch and how long it has been since the last clean.

How often gutters need cleaning
Most Melbourne homes need a clean once a year, ideally in autumn once the deciduous leaf drop has finished and before the winter rain sets in. Homes under gums or pines usually need it twice, because those trees drop all year rather than in one hit.
Book before storm season rather than after. Overflowing gutters during heavy rain push water back under the roof sheets and into eaves, ceilings and wall cavities, and that repair bill is many times the cost of a clean.
Why blocked gutters cost you more later
Blocked gutters cause three expensive problems. Water backs up under the roof line and rots timber fascia and eaves. Overflow dumps against the wall and into the footings, which matters a lot on reactive clay soils. And in summer, dry leaf litter sitting in a gutter is a genuine ember risk in bushfire prone areas.
Rusted gutters are the other outcome. Debris holds moisture against the steel permanently, and a gutter that could have lasted twenty years fails in eight.
